Hi All
Hope you are all enjoying a bit more freedom now & are managing to get out & about!

We are aiming for our next meeting to be on

Needless to say I will need to confirm this nearer the time! I will contact Churchdown in December & will let you know when it is confirmed.
In the meantime keep on slinging bobbins!
Here are a few bits of information that have come in through the website:
Cotswold Lacemakers – I am very sad to hear that Cotswold Lacemakers has folded. It met at Southam nr Prestbury, Cheltenham but due to falling numbers is no longer viable. Thank you to the committee who have tried to keep it going! Members who wish to join Glevum would be very welcome!
Lace Guild – The Lace Guild has been advised that it needs a new roof. It has been repaired on numerous occasions but is now beyond repair! If you would like to donate to the Roof Fund please see the Lace Guild website www.laceguild.org.
Lace Braid Workshop – Braid Lace Making workshop with Europa Chang Dawson at Kingshill House in Dursley, on Saturday 11th September 2021. (10am – 4pm) The cost of the workshop is £74 which includes a light lunch and all day refreshments. For further information or to book please see our website www.kingshillhouse.org.uk
Lace Competition (received in July) – The Cowper & Newton Museum is situated in Olney, Buckinghamshire. Olney is well known for two things, as one of the main Buckinghamshire lace towns and as the home of Amazing Grace. Today we have launched a competition for all lacemakers to celebrate the 250 anniversary of the writing of Amazing Grace. The winner will receive £500. To find out more visit our website https://cowperandnewtonmuseum.org.uk/amazing-lace-250-competition
Lace Group – We have had a request, through the website, from a returning lacemaker who is seeking a self help person or group in the Swindon area. Please let me know if you can help her & I will pass on your details.
That’s all from me for now! Looking forward to 2022 – a New Year & a new start!
Take care & keep well!
Jan & the Committee xx
